My photograph Snowscene with Mausoleum has won the first ever Howardian Hills AONB Photography Competition!

I had been selected as a finalist in a number of the categories and was invited to launch of the exhibition but, but given the excellent quality of entries across all categories, I was hugely surprised and delighted to have won the History and Heritage Category - but then to be selected by the judges as the competition's overall winner was incredible.

Well done to all other competition entrants for the quality of the images submitted - and a huge thanks to Rural Action Yorkshire and the Howardian Hills AONB team for running the competition and putting on a superb exhibition. Not to mention thanks to the sponsors and those that donated prizes - my prize of an annual family pass to Castle Howard will be getting plenty of use!
