Extreme winter weather!

Article text
Winter Stream, Danby, North York Moors
I've really enjoyed getting out and about with the camera in all the snow and ice this year.

February 2009 saw some of the heaviest snowfalls of recent years - and luckily this coincided with the family being on holiday for a week at Bronte Cottage in Hinderwell near Whitby (see links page). It's not often that we get conditions like these so I was pleased to be off work so I could get out and capture a few images.

As I headed out one morning before dawn it was -12.5 degrees Celcius. As I returned from a productive morning's photography - and after an inadvertant dip in an icy stream - my wet trousers had frozen like cardboard around my boots!
