I'm delighted that one of my favourite photographs has been selected from entries in the 'Beautiful Yorkshire' photography competition to go on display at venues around the County.

The competition, which was judged by renowned landscape photographer Joe Cornish, closed in April 2007. 'Sunrise over Kettleness' was chosen as one of three interim winners in February 2007 and this is how Joe described it - "Technical excellence (look at the detail in the foreground), good timing (sun rising over the cliff) and dramatic colour"

The exhibition will start off at Malton, Northallerton and Whitby libraries from 14th January before moving on to other venues as set out below:

- Malton, Northallerton and Whitby: 14 Jan - 2 Feb 2008
- Knaresborough, Richmond and Scarborough: 11 Feb - 1 March 2008
- Selby, Stokesley and Filey: 10 March - 29 March 2008
- Ripon, Pickering and Skipton: 7 April - 26 April 2008
- County Record Office, Bentham: 6 May - 24 May 2008
- Harrogate: 12 May - 31 May 2008
